Outline・Location

In the Sanbu District of Chiba Prefecture, Kujukuri Town is located roughly in the center of the Kujukuri coast, 60km from the nation’s capital, Tokyo, with a population of 20,000. In 1955, the three towns of Katakai, Toyoumi, and the Sakuda district of Naruhama merged into the current town of Kujukuri. Kujukuri’s geographic location is at north latitude 35°32’, and east longitude 140°26’.

Industry

An abundance of sardines continues to support the growth of Kujukuri town and its main industry of sardine processing. A mild climate and an abundance of nature are utilized by the local farming community that shares the areas agricultural resources.

Since long ago, Kujukuri has enjoyed fame and tourism. Each year millions of visitors come from the greater Tokyo area to enjoy Kujukuri’s scenic seaside.
